Got this game with my GF, we are both envying it so far.
The menus and the skill tree are a bit overwhelming, but I'm sure we will understand everything properly.
I was quite lucky, I think, with the loot pinatas, I got several heroes and a purple "Survivalist" Jones with by reading his skills seems to be a fairly beefy, self healing guy.
My GF got mostly schematics and weapons
Quite cool that we both get to advance each other missions (so far). Have some quick questions:
- Are the survivors you rescue shared between the party members?
- Most of the time only one of us gets a reward for saving a survivor, but I could swear once, we both got a present from a survivor.
- What's bluglow for? You only seem to need 2-4 but there are tons of it in the map.

It is already. You don't buy a game, you buy a account in Epic that you can use to access the same character from anywhere. And crossplay is (for all I know) already active PC to Console. It takes a bit of tweaking (linking the epic account with the console account).
Anyway don't take my word for it!.

Survivors are shared. Gifts for rescuing survivors aren't, but they don't seem to be that great anyway.
You only need 2-4 for the mission usually, but there are team boosts around the map that require bluglow to turn them on.

Yep. Supports crossplay.
I sold a couple of copies here at GAF for $25. I know a bunch others have as well.
PC codes give you the PS4 copy, so you can get a copy for all three of you for about $75.

Uhh... Are you sure? Pretty sure it's been confirmed that it's at least crossplay with PS4/PC, and there's now speculation about whether or not it's also crossplay with Xbone.
Edit: Oh, yeah. Two people on the same account but different platforms probably won't be able to play together. That poster would need to buy 3 copies.

Completely incorrect, PS4 and XboxOne both have a form of crossplay with PC where if you download the epic launcher and link your PSN account you can add friends to your account and the user on PC end can invite people through the epic friends list and can play together on PC/PS4 and PC/Xbox.
But yes 3 copies of the game would be needed.
Ah, so people get more keys (in some bundles or so) and can sell them freely? How does the PS4 players use the keys given feom pc? Linked via the PS4 clienr?
People need to watch the Giant Bomb Unfinished. Epic confirmed crossplay. PC/PS4 and I assume Xbox/PC

Limited gets two additional copies, and Ultimate gets four total.
Once you create your Epic account and use the code, you can link your PS4 account, which will give you access to the game on the console too.

I've had shared gifts from survivors as well. Not sure what triggers it.

You're wrong and so is that post. As stated by other Cross-play does indeed support PC/PS4 and PC/XboxOne. There is absolutely no PS4/XboxOne but both consoles can Cross play with PC if they are friends in the Epic Games Launcher. Been this way since Friday release. This is the internet don't read a single thing and assume it's correct.
The subreddit has confirmed it, and a few of us have done it as well. Also confirmed on the Giantbomb preview.

Yeah. I've done cross-play and I'm watching a Twitch stream right now (WyvernSlayr) where they're doing it.

If they're survivors that you just talk to, they aren't shared gifts. If it's an "event" and you have to save them, everyone that participates gets one.

It was from the Alpha, which there was no crossplay. But that was before it was on consoles. This game is currently being worked on by a 6 man team. And no PS4/Xbox Cross play will never work so it's mostly meaning that by all circumstances.

I see a nice Blu Glo resting on the group and not up onhigh areas where most are placed
All of a sudden this Fremlin type Husk steals the Blu Gliwand then teases me with a whack-a-mole game
He spawn 2 holes one of himself, one a fake with a cardboard cut out of him with a red X
I laughed so hard trying to kill him, the holes went from 2-3, I said fuck this chucked a grenade right as those holes spawned, grenade went off just as it popped up
Got the BluGlo he stole, extra pieces of BluGlo and a Reward for the whole team with reward Boxes for each party member. Oh wells went running back to help kill Husks, they never went to grab the rewards, was some good stuff in there.

I'm still really loving the game, shooting feels great, building is a breeze and fun to do.
However I do think too much stuff is locked solely behind Llama's. I do think it should be possible to grind out a common schematic all the way to legendary for weapons/traps for example. Unless I'm wrong and quests in higher end areas reward legendary schematics?

Yeah, I pretty much agree with this. Level 5+6 chests should offer good rewards for example. All that I had in my level 6 chest earlier was some hero Xp and some survivor xp.

The higher editions come with a free $20 copy. If you're enjoying it enough, you can upgrade your own version in the in-game store and gift them the extra copies.
That's still ultimately going to cost you more than $20, though.

There are legendary transform tokens. I'm sure they are mad grindy to use though.
The llama system is definitely pretty fucked up though. They should have been closer to Warframe but instead they're closer to Monster Strike. It's a bad look.
Bought this and played 2 hours or so last night, and holy shit the menu side is super overwhelming, lol.
I seemed to get really lucky with the pinatas though, got legendaries of an AR, Scythe, and two Survivors. But I haven't crafted anything better than a green since...I'm not sure if I should do anything this early? It seems like I can keep using schematics, but what happens with durability? Same with using the good survivors, are these being 'used' or anything like that?

When do you start using your hero and survivor xp? Im reluctant to spend it now, assuming I will get better hero's and survivors. Level 13 at the moment.

Ive played for well over 20 hours. I'm in the second area with a level 21 character and I've only ever pulled 2 Legenderies, both of which were survivors.
I'm actually using a Rare Hero as my main.i have a couple of epics but they're both ninjas and I don't have as much fun with the class.
Yeah that would help a lot too, and give team much more incentive to work together to clear a map more effectively.
Yup, and the perks being random on weapons/traps isn't exactly helping either. That's another thing I really, really hope they add a way to reroll perks.
But it's still early access, and the team seems committed to communicating with the community and fixing problems. And the building/shooting feels great.

Yeah, they seem both responsive and well-meaning. Part of that is I think the market might put its foot up this game's ass in the next few months if they don't so I'm hoping it is high on their list. There's so many weird progression and reward related problems in this game that I don't think the honeymoon phase is going to last long with the general public.

Use it all - you get most of it back when you retire people or recycle weapons or schematics. No reason (that I know of) to hoard.
Yup, absolutely.
Easiest short-term fix would to just up the rates on legendaries from the normal Llama's. Because the rates are just completely insane for the amount of stuff you can get (115 weapons/traps and not even counting the crystal weapons and (lead) survivors etc.), and then you have the RNG of the perks on top of that.
But I really hope they do something substantial and just re-think the system and don't put everything behind Llama's. They've got a solid foundation gameplay-wise, just get the progression/rewards right.

Survivors are very good. But yeah I am in sort of the same boat. I have a few more legendary survivors. I mainly want epic/legendary heroes then I'll be content for a while.
Ninjas are great though!
Don't forget transformations though. I think people are overlooking the mechanic. You can eventually transform higher rarity than rares. It's also a pretty good investment early on because schematics you use to transform also give their respective experience as if you recycled.
There are also missions which show up a few times a day that give special rewards, which I think can include schematics but definitely can include 1 time use of transformation keys.
Yeah I looked into them, perhaps I'm wrong but it seems to me they require a lot of people to transform. Like an epic hero requires 420 people with 5 rare heroes.
Perhaps the rate with which you get people increases later on? I'm still in Plankerton atm.

And something else and perhaps you know the answer. But I got a Special Forces Jonesy and a Survivalist Ramirez from the limited edition but they both have the skill tree of the Special Forces character, is that a bug?

I don't think so. I upgraded to Ultimate, so I have all of them, and they're all like this.
The only difference between the male and female is the character model.

I can imagine epic schematics are expensive on the people front.
