Fortnite |OT| Earliest Access VS Husks

Do only the home base missions do this?

Yes. To get past Storm Shield Defense missions you have to defend your own Storm Shield. This is why these missions reward more XP and loot for other players than any other missions, to encourage other players to still help with them.

Got Special Forces Jonesy up to 30, the 65% extra damage when War Cry is active is no joke.

Starting to do the 28 power missions, had a really fun map just now, found an underground cave system that led into a bunker, that was pretty neat.

I don't know why I assumed this but I thought each new area would be a different environment but it's still the typical city structure. Kind of a bummer but hopefully they can add some in later.

Just sold a PS4 Founder's Pack code to GAF user Flambe. Just throwing it out there since not everyone checks the B/S/T thread that I have three more available if anyone is interested. $25 Paypal.

Just PM me.

I might be interested. Let me watch some videos of gameplay first.

Yeah I'm a bit disappointed in that too. I could use a change of scenery. They really need to focus on the rewards system first though. I'm already out of ways to get founders coins and I'm down to the few ways you can grind v bucks, which is also finite.

While I'm liking the game if I don't get something great whenever the 1000 coin crate comes round then I don't know how far beyond level 20 I'll be able to get.

I need to stop burning through coins every time I get 100. Thanks for the reminder to save up!

Anyone know how to unlock the the last two nodes for Bruiser and Sniper Defenders in the tier 1 skill tree? It says "Coming Soon" under Quest Requirements. It's bothering me seeing 72/74 every time i go to skills.

I think those unlock when you do the extra (7+) storm shield defenses. At least the first of those three did for me when I received the storm shield 7 quest.

Yeah the first one did for me too. Saw someone on reddit say they've completed stonewood and defense level 10 and they are still locked. Probably just something they need to fix. i'm going to submit the feedback in game about it.

Favorite weapon so far guys?
I've got a founder's wasp sniper rifle without a scope. Still easy to get headshots at the range husks spawn from objectives, and is great at medium and reasonably close range too. I haven't used anything else really in ages; first gun I'm really leveling up seriously.

Only legendary though. I'm hoping there is an epic, non founder's equivalent to get at some point. But that might force me to try out other guns, which may not be a bad idea.

You know what, forget it.

When I get back home tomorrow I'm just gonna go on a character/survivor/weapon/schematic upgrade spree. I've been doing a little bit here and there on the guns that I kind of like but I feel like I'm spending way, way, way too much time on the main menu and not enough in the game levels. Was kind of waiting to not level up some of the survivors but with the RNG the way it is I might never get a good one until down the line.

Just gonna focus on that power level and see if I can't hit 19 (at 14 now). Game is fun growing your character and shooting and defending your base, but a lot of the systems around it all kind of felt like bullshit for me tonight.

Also you get like 90% of the invested XP back when you retire so don't be afraid to spend away.

People say they are noticing people getting dumber later in the game is this because earlier in the game stupid desicions are less costly?

Just had a 34 defend the shelter where me and one other guy were really the only ones doing anything. During the countdown while I was looking for modules the other guy was building and two other farming until the raid hit, one guy stayed farming during the damn raid then said we wasted his time when we failed the mission. Uhh WTF?

that's true, in higher levels, everyone needs to work

I think most players are the same level of stupid. It's just much harder to carry them now.

I really get aggravated when it's clear nobody but me is contributing resources to defend the main mission.

Edit: Or waste it on just the worst designs I've seen.

Was doing a "Retrieve the Data" mission with a friend and two randoms. They used almost the whole limit building a cube around the zone. My friend and I went a few tiles away from them, where the storm spawn would have to cross a two tile wide "bridge" that fell into a deep pit. We built a simple wall in the middle of it, and launcher pads on the side to push them into the pit. The other players went in front of us and built walls, blocking it off. Like what the hell.

I love this game. There is so much to do, and it doesn't cone across as a freemium game at all like some other free to play titles. Between Fortnite and Paragon, Epic has proven they know how to make fun games that are free. I put them in the same tier as Gazillion (marvel heroes) when it comes to NOT price gouging customers with free games.

You are probably right, but this mindset is the shorten path out of the game. If you feel that way, you probably should do more "attack the camp" missions. Or try to get into a static group of friends. Or grown a uncaring for actual defense and build whatever amuse you personally. Make your forts has large cathedrals made of wood.

Progress slow down to almost stop around ~18 ish anyway.

I think Founder's Copper Bearcat is my favorite so far, but I still have some legendaries and epics I haven't tried.

It's exclusive to the Ultimate Edition but Ramires's rifle is insanely good.

Is this the Nocturno or Drumroll? I'll try it next.

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
Pulled an Epic Ninja earlier which is nice, first one I have better than a rare. Just about to hit power level 15. Have to do shield defense 5 which I am dreading since my homebase is a goddamn disaster, lol.

if I could make a suggestion, destroy everything that isn't a base core and then start again with traps a little further out. My base has gone through some major changes from being barren, to being a tunnel network that takes up most of the map. The design that works best is death tunnels with a little bit of open space between them and your base to keep movement and visibility high.

Problem is I need a level 28 bomb delivery mission and my normal friends weren't on. The game puts low level people into hard missions too often.

Asked a group to help me defend a Bluglo siphon so I spent a bunch of resources setting up an immaculate base around it, went through the first phase, one of the randoms went and pulled the collection lever, siphon over, no credit. Love it.
