But in point 6, shouldn't it be 'definitely', not 'defiantly'?
FIGHT THE SYSTEM RARRRRVinnk said:It should be, but now reading it and thinking about how a lot of people thought it would sell badly, I like defiantly' better.
That's very interesting. Were they so positive about it before the PS3 began to tank? I'm wondering if the failure of the Sony's system provides some motivation for the Japanese hardcore to take a harder look at the competition. It undeniably has a good lineup of games. This is the first positive news I've heard about the 360 in Japan in a long time.Vinnk said:5. Observation: Hardcore (otaku) gamers in my city LOVE the Xbox 360. When I go to game shops there are always people playing with the 360. Because dedicated game shops are for gamers. However at a large department store, no one gives the 360 a second look. Casual and occasional gamers couldnt care less about the 360, but among my gaming friends it has a very good reputation, MUCH better than the first Xbox.
What I find interesting here is that last week's report indicated some retailers weren't expecting any more shipments, but there it is. Seems retailers are willing to give this one more chances.6. Ouendan 2 was almost as hard to find this week as last week. But I would not go as far as to call it supply constrained as all the large retailers have it in stock. It is defiantly selling well though.

TOTALS:

RE4: 15
Ouendan 2: 6
NOTES:
1. Wii is still very supply constrained. Any store that does have them doesnt have them for long.
2. DS lite is not hard to find this week. Most stores have them. This is the third week that I have seen the system readily available. The numbers are a bit lower than last week but that is probably just normal fluctuation. In general, it is too soon to tell, but for this week specifically, it is not supply constrained.
3. I did not count PS3 this week, but as a general observation there are more than enough systems available.
4. Biohazard 4 was available at every store but there were significantly fewer copies indicating that while not selling out, it is selling well.
6. Ouendan 2 was almost as hard to find this week as last week. But I would not go as far as to call it supply constrained as all the large retailers have it in stock. It is defiantly selling well though.
7. Harvest Moon is not supply constrained but it seems pretty popular. Yesterday some of my students were talking about it (when they should have been paying attention to their lessons).

Just curious, what's the opinion of the Wii thus far amongst friends and gamers?
Consistently since the week of April 23, but it's been back and forth with them this year with GBM in the lead more. They're both going down, though.Xeke said:How long has the Micro been outselling the SP? I just really noticed that last week.
After a year and a half of it, why would you expect it to stop now?Vic said:Why the DSL is still selling more than 100k/week?
Not really. Here are the weeks PSP has had under 20K.sphinx said:We shouldn't forget the PSP was selling steadily at 18k -20k at one point and in the last months it has been around 30k. If PS3 can find it's "Monster hunter portable 1 and 2", it will be alright.
Vinnk said:My gamer friends love Fire Emblem and Zelda they think it is a good system. However it's my friends, who havent played games since the famicom days, that are going wild about it. Hardcore gamers I expect to be into it, but now people I would never expect to pick up a game are raving about it.
GreenGlowingGoo said:Hmm. With the DSL still selling 100k+ a week while not being supply constrained, this could mean enough backstock in december for a 600 to 800k week. I wonder if it'll keep up through the whole summer though. When it's available, people will be less inclined to buy it as soon as they see it.

Other than Monster Hunter 2 Portable bump, PSP is very much flat year over year over year.
