Highly possible. Even if it is being considered, it's probably 5 years out at the minimum. It'll probably end up depending on how the show's writing evolves as well.

Yeah I literally loved the IP and then stopped caring after learning about Joel’s fate. Found TLOU2 for $4 a Black Friday but haven’t even opened the box. Some say the gameplay is great and maybe it is but playing a ND game with no interest in the story makes no sense. And imagine the TV show with just Bella Ramsey and no Pedro Pascal lmao

A prequel with Joel and Tommy while they were on "the other side", taking on more of the Hunter role and wiping out innocents and other gangs for their goods ad supplies would be fucking awesome. Then it ends with Tommy leaving to join the Fireflies while Joel becomes a solo survivalist.

This isn't how that works., and honestly it never should.

TLOU is amazing, and TLOU II despite the hate is a great game. There didn't need to be a TLOU II and there doesn't need to be a TLOU III either. Everybody is out here complaining about the lack of new IP and sequel sequel sequel but then they complain when a dev wants to do something new. You don't get to have both, and you especially don't know with the state of the industry. Games are too expensive, and take too long to make.

Outside of maybe their super early stuff (like who owned a fucking Amiga or 3DO) Naughty Dog has never made a bad game, and up until the PS4 they had never even continue an IP for more than a single generation.

Also, Neil has no trouble lying about what they are working on. So there's that. I just won't take anything he says about upcoming work at face value. It's a meta game he plays so nothing gets spoiled and he keeps the audience guessing. Outside of having fun with speculation, his words cannot be trusted.

Here are things we will lie about in interviews. If somebody asks,“Do you play as Ellie?” we would say no. Even though we knew from the beginning that we were working toward this climactic moment.

Nah, try again. it's specific to Ramsey, who I think she was a terrible pick for the Ellie role. Generally speaking, I prefer 'real' looking people in the things I watch, and I also quickly get put off when a TV series is full of characters who look like models. But in the case of TLOU, I could not stand what they did with the Ellie character.

As soon as HBO flashes that bag for a fourth season you KNOW they'll try and get the next game out ASAP. You already have assets from the online game.

Druckmann doesn't even need to direct. Just have a smaller team work on the game. A tight 12-16 hour experience is all we need. Not a 20+ hour monster.

Why does HBO need another game? If the TV show continues to be a hit, expect a bunch of spinoff TV shows, just like Game of Thrones

I am happy Druckmann isn't just resting on his laurels. I wasn't a big fan of the TLOU2's story, but you have to respect the massive swing Druckmann took. He could have easily developed another cut and paste Ellie and Joel adventure, and fans would have lapped it up

Every other studio would develop another Uncharted or TLOU in ND's position, and just run the franchises into the ground. Intergalactic is the biggest new IP gamers are getting this generation, maybe besides whatever Sony Santa Monica's next game is. Be happy some big AAA studios are still taking chances
