Fortnite |OT| Earliest Access VS Husks

i didn't have much time to play yesterday so i just started farming mats and work on my base to make it look elaborate.

i started to make a castle but then realized i won't have a door i guess i can set a bunch of traps

need more inventory size for mat. these upgrade add up to make it look pretty.

Just to check I'm not crazy - I upgraded a mini-llama with some free V-bucks I got and that one turned silver, some of its drops were question mark cards that give you an option out of two heroes or weapons. However, the one you pick is the one that gets discarded. That, uh, seems unintuitive to say the least, or it's a bug.

Has this happened to anyone else?

It's a bug, apparently it can occur when using a controller. If you're on PC you can use the mouse to make that selection to avoid the bug until you see it fixed in patch notes.

Log in, guys. Looks like they just gave people 15 free llamas for "believing in Fortnite."

Says available for a limited time. Not sure if this is restricted to certain versions of the game or if it's universal.

I'm lowest teir (gifted version) and got them so probably for everyone! Nice power jump!

5 of mine went gold. Got tons of stuff. Some new heroes I hadn't seen either.

Played a bunch more this past week. Some random thoughts:

-Difficulty is finally picking up around the level 15 quests.
-I'm nearing the crafting limit on my home base and I'm only at upgrade level five. I wouldn't call the limit low but it isn't a lot either. You really can't be frivolous with you building designs which hurts some of the Minecraft-like appeal. You get a pop-up when you hit 2,000 remaining objects. Maybe the object limit goes up as the area expands? Either way, I had to kiss my tower to heaven goodbye.
-A trap is its' own object. For example, a floor with a trap is counted as two objects. I've littered my forts with spare traps from missions which is probably why I encountered the object limit so soon.
-I really wish you could remove traps instead of having to destroy the trap with the surface it is mounted to.
-The material limit seems at odd with itself. I completely understand why it is in place. Going into a mission with unlimited resources would make the game difficult to balance tune. But that same limit really hurts you in the sandbox mode while building your fort. A level one construction piece is 10 units of a resource, level two is 20, level three is 30 and so forth. I'm upgrading all of my construction pieces to level three and you just blow through the 999 limit in moments. I hope they let you collect by 999 in the future and just send any resource over that amount to your base.
-De-construction is a nightmare.

Just 7 founders edition llamas I think.

You also get founders coins to purchase more founders llamas as you play. I don't know if those will go away once it opens up to be F2P.

How do you upgrade building materials?

How do you upgrade building materials?

The ability is in the builder portion of your skill tree. Once you've unlocked the skill you just hit R3 (PS4) on any surface to upgrade the level of the piece. You also have to build level 1 of a piece before upgrading. A level 3 construction piece is 50 units of a resource (Level 1 @ 10 + Level 2 @ 20 + Level 3 @ 30) Progressively upgrading the resource makes sense in missions since you guild build during battles but it's a little irksome when you are just building the fort(s) at your home base.

That's the version I had when I claimed it this morning.
But I'm loving this one so much I upgraded.

Now just have to offload these extra keys.

Damn! I had two silvers and one gold, only a legendary centurion, but I'll take it.

You can't get legendary heroes from regular llamas? Huh... though I'm assuming the llamas are already set before you hit them so it's not really an RNG roll every time you hit the llama. Hope I get a mythic.

I believe you *can* get a legendary from a non-upgraded llama, it's just very low.

Or maybe, you can't, and the upgraded llama is the game's way of saying legendary coming. Pretty sure the die is cast before you hit them. Someone on reddit was saying that it had to be done on their end, or else people would figure out a way to cheat the system and permanently upgrade.

I'm happy. I've got a good epic assault rifle/shotgun/sniper/pistol, and I had just started working on my epic centurian wildcat, now I'll retire her and work on my legendary centurian wildcat.

Only 1 legendary llama from those 15. I demand a recount!

If the basic data is to be believed, you have ~5% chance of a llama going gold, so one outta fifteen ain't bad.

At least, that's what I'm telling myself.

My internet is really good, but I'm noticing that I get really bad lag? Sometimes I fall through floors or if enemies stop moving I just teleport even if I stop moving. Sometimes enemies start walking on air, and one time a fat husk floating in the air floated into the inside of our base almost ruining the mission (he literally flew in and went through a wall). What the hell is going on?

Console?

Only broken thing I've seen in this regard is enemies in the air or in the ground but I believe this might be a server to client side issue with the cluster.

I literally got nothing worthwhile out of them , i fucking hate rng.
At least i can upgrade some stuff and progress a tiny bit

Wish this game was buy to play honestly.

I know the best place to find copper ore is in caves, but has anyone found a specific map with higher likelihood of caves spawning? I'm on the verge of evolving my epic raptor to the next level, but wanted to make 3-4 versions of it beforehand in case I encounter a silver drought.

Mostly just around the edges of the map in suburbs, I usually find 2-4 caves usually 1-2 on each edge of map. Honestly I have more luck with copper in suburb caves. I feel like in the full forest maps you'll find a lot more caves with just Rough Ore and some coal not as much copper but that's just been in my experience. Suburb is nice too because can find a decent bit of copper in crates just in town as well.

Crap, I've been littering my spare traps everywhere as well. This is going to suck. I didn't know there was a build limit. That actually sucks. It makes sense with traps but not sure what's the reasoning behind limiting your base building. Does upgrading a wall or floor count as another object?

I got 3 golden ones out of this and still nothing good, haha. I guess survivors are better than crappy weapons though.

I got a legendary outlander, very cool and was on my list, I want the legendary Sarah mostly XD

But I'm confused at why they have playable characters so damn low compared to survivors. Survivors progress you a ton, but a variety of playable characters increases your likely hood of sticking around to play.

It's a bug, and when I realized it was a bug and started selecting the one I wanted to burn, it fixed itself and burned the one I wanted to keep.

Heroes are hard to find, and they're what everyone wants. It is a F2P game, after all.

And damn, it's addicting.
