When it comes to first week sales, what is the highest selling single SKU (as in not combining multiplatform games or combining games that has multiply versions like for example Pokémon and Inazuma Eleven have) in Japan?

You know, it's interesting that only 5 franchises have 1 million+ debuts:

1. Dragon Quest
2. Final Fantasy
3. Pokemon
4. Resident Evil
5. Yu-Gi-Oh

No Mario or Monster Hunter on that list. That'll change next week, of course, but so far, it's been 4 RPG series and RE.

Initial shipment was 1 million a few weeks ago. It rised a bit (azalyn speaking) but I don't think even if there is the demand Capcom will be able to ship 1,5 miliion more before the week ends.

Pre-order allotments went faster than anyone expected. That, or Capcom's purposely limiting pre-orders to build hype. I could see them doing that after what happened with Tri last year, but they don't need to be that desperate.

Ah, I see then. If the sell out is absurdly high, it wouldn't surprise me if the PSN release (is it getting a PSN release?) does really well. I realize Japan doesn't like DD, but if it's DD or no game until Capcom ships new units, I think some will go DD.

Do we have any word on how many of those Monster Hunter PSP Sony is making? I can see that actually keeping hardware for the PSP flying for a bit.

This isn't a DS game. If the game sells out fast, Capcom will have it resupplied by the next day.
